FREEZING TRAY
Handwash the tray with mild soap and warm water before its first use to ensure it’s clean and ready for food storage.
Avoid using sharp objects or utensils as they can damage the silicone. Refrain from cleaning the tray with metal cleaning balls to prevent scratches.
The tray can handle temperatures between -40°C and 220°C (-40°F to 428°F). Avoid exposing it to extreme temperatures outside of this range.
Yes, the tray is oven-safe for baking up to 220°C (428°F), but the lid is not oven-safe. Do not completely seal the tray when using it in the oven.
No, the tray should not be used in the microwave as it has a steel wire frame that is not microwave-safe.
Avoid forcing the lid off when frozen. Let the tray sit on the counter for 3-5 minutes to allow the lid to expand slightly for easier removal. You can also run warm water over the lid for quicker results.
We recommend removing the cubes from the tray and reheating them on the stovetop, in the oven, or in the microwave. For faster reheating, thaw the cubes on the counter or in the fridge beforehand.
While Curry Freezy trays are stain-resistant, intense food coloring or long-term use may cause staining. Soak the tray in a 3% hydrogen peroxide solution for 24 hours to remove any stains. You can also set them in direct sunlight for a few hours or indirect sunlight indoors for a few days. The natural sun-bleaching effect will help remove the stains.
CurryFreezy trays typically do not retain odors, but if an odor persists, wash them with a baking soda and vinegar solution or bake the tray in the oven at 175°C (350°F) for 30 minutes.
Due to static electricity, the silicone tray may attract dust. When not in use for extended periods, store the tray in a clean, dust-free area with the lid on to keep it dust-free.
Curry Freezy trays are made from 100% USA FDA approved food-grade silicone and are BPA-free, ensuring safe use for freezing and storing food.
The tray has a sturdy steel wire-framed rim that maintains the tray’s shape and prevents spills, making it easy to handle when filled with liquids.
The tray includes convenient fill lines for ½ cup (125mL) and 1 cup (250mL) portions, allowing you to freeze and store food in perfect serving sizes.
Simply push up from the bottom of the tray to pop out frozen cubes. You can then transfer the cubes to Curry Freezy reusable silicone bags (sold separately) or ziplock bags to free up the tray for more meal prep and food storage.
Yes, the Curry Freezy tray is oven-safe up to 220°C (428°F) without the lid, making it versatile for both freezing and baking.
The stackable, airtight lid on the Curry Freezy tray helps prevent freezer burn and odors, while also ensuring spill-proof storage.
By freezing food, sauces, fruits in portioned sizes, you can easily use and heat only what you need, saving time and reducing food waste. Perfect for meal prep and portion control, these trays keep your meals fresh and organized.
By reducing the need for disposable containers, minimizing food waste, and preserving leftovers, Curry Freezy trays help you save money on groceries and reduce your reliance on single-use plastics.
Our trays and reusable bags offer a sustainable alternative to disposable plastic containers, helping to reduce your environmental footprint.
Yes, Curry Freezy trays and lids are dishwasher-safe, making them easy to clean and reuse for all your meal prep needs.
Yes, you can place hot food directly in the Curry Freezy tray. However, we recommend waiting for the food to cool slightly before putting the lid on to minimize condensation and trapped steam.
After filling the tray and allowing the food to cool, place the tray on a flat surface or shelf in your freezer. If you put hot or warm food in the freezer, it can thaw nearby frozen items. It may take up to 24 hours for the food to freeze completely, depending on your freezer’s temperature and the type of food.
You can freeze a wide variety of foods in Curry Freezy trays! Foods with a liquid base, like soups, stews, broths, and sauces, freeze well and easily. You can also freeze solid foods like rice, cut fruits, shredded meats, chilis, raw meats, and more.
The freezing time depends on the type and temperature of the food. On average, most foods take up to 24 hours to freeze. Foods with higher water content (like soups) may freeze faster on the surface but could take longer to freeze completely in large volumes compared to dense foods like mashed potatoes or rice.
Freezer burn occurs when food is exposed to air and loses moisture. Curry Freezy trays come with snug-fitting, airtight lids that help prevent freezer burn for up to 3-4 months. For long-term storage, consider transferring the frozen cubes into vacuum-sealed freezer bags. Even if freezer burn occurs, the food is still safe to eat, though the flavor may change.
Many customers use the Curry Freezy trays as molds to freeze food and then transfer the frozen cubes to Curry Freezy Silicone bags or ziplock or other freezer bags for more efficient storage. If you prefer to leave the food in the trays, we recommend consuming it within 3-4 months to maintain optimal flavor.
Yes! Curry Freezy trays are used by several commercial kitchens, including farms, meal prep companies, restaurants, and dairy businesses. They are ideal for portioning soups, stews, sauces, and even packing butter.
FOOD BAG
Curry Freezy bags are made from platinum, food-grade silicone, which meets FDA and EU safety standards. They are BPA-free, contain no plastic, and do not release microplastics, making them safe for cooking, freezing, and storing food.
Curry Freezy bags are reusable, durable, and made from premium silicone. They’re a sustainable alternative to plastic, offering:
- Airtight locking seal to keep food fresh.
- Easy-pour corners and wide mouths for convenient filling.
- A flat base for easy storage and organization.
- Microwave, freezer, oven, dishwasher, and sous vide safe.
- BPA-free, with no microplastics.
Curry Freezy bags can handle temperatures from -40°C to 220°C (-40°F to 428°F). If you’re using the bags in the oven or microwave, keep the seal open to allow steam to escape. Always handle with care, as the bags will become hot and steam maybe released.
Yes, Curry Freezy silicone food bags are safe for cooking up to 220°C (428°F). You can use them in the oven, microwave, and for sous vide cooking. When cooking, always keep the seal partially open and place the bag on a baking sheet. Use tongs or gloves to handle the hot bags, or let them cool before handling.
While Curry Freezy bags are durable, avoid storing sharp objects that could puncture the silicone, such as knives. Also, keep them away from pets and kids who might bite or chew on them.
We recommend washing Curry Freezy bags with warm soapy water or in the dishwasher. Better to clean soon after use to avoid staining.
After washing, air-dry the bags upside down on a drying rack with the seal open. You can use cups, bottles, or any non-sharp kitchen item to stand them up. For a spotless finish, wipe the bags with a clean towel to avoid water spots.
If your bags get stained (from foods like tomato sauce or carrots), set them in direct sunlight for a few hours or indirect sunlight indoors for a few days. The natural sun-bleaching effect will help remove the stains. You can also soak the tray in a 3% hydrogen peroxide solution for 24 hours to remove any stains.
For persistent odors (like onions or garlic), try one of these methods:
- Soak the bag in a 50/50 mixture of warm water and vinegar for a few hours.
- Bake the bag on a baking sheet in the oven at 350°F for 8–10 minutes. Let it cool before handling.
For stronger odors, you can use both methods.
- For stains: Let the bag sit in direct sunlight for a few hours to naturally bleach the stains.
- For odors: Soak the bag in a mixture of 50/50 warm water and vinegar, or bake it in the oven at 350°F for 8–10 minutes.
- For stickiness: Coat the bag in a mixture of baking soda and water (6:2 ratio), let it sit for an hour, then rinse.
Curry Freezy bags can also be used to store cosmetics, stationary etc.
MEAL PREP & FREEZING TIPS
- Freeze ingredients that take the longest to cook: Consider freezing components that take the most time to prepare, such as sauces, broths, or cooked vegetables. This saves time when cooking and allows flexibility for different dishes.
- Start small and test: When freezing a new recipe, start with smaller portions. This way, you can see how it reheats before committing to larger batches. If it doesn’t freeze well, you’ll minimize food waste.
- Freeze produce when it’s fresh: Buy fruits and vegetables when they’re in season and freeze them as soon as possible. This locks in the freshness, so you’ll have tasty ingredients ready for smoothies, sauces, or meals even in the off-season.
- Cool food before freezing: Ensure your food cools to room temperature before freezing to avoid raising the temperature of other food in the freezer, which can create a food safety risk. To cool food faster, split it into smaller portions, use an ice bath, or place an ice-filled water bottle in the food.
- Use airtight containers: Airtight bags or containers, like Curry Freezy trays and bags, help prevent air exposure which can cause freezer burn. For longer-term storage, transfer frozen portions to vacuum-sealed bags.
- Portion control: Freeze food in portions that suit your needs. For instance, if you only need a small amount of sauce for a meal, freeze smaller portions to avoid unnecessary waste.
- Freeze food promptly: Don’t delay freezing meals. It’s best to freeze food within a few days of cooking to minimize bacterial growth and maintain freshness.
- Transfer frozen food to bags: Once your food is frozen in Curry Freezy trays, transfer the cubes into Curry Freezy silicone bags or freezer bags to save space.
- Label everything: To keep your freezer organized, label both your trays and bags. This will help you quickly identify what’s inside, avoiding confusion when similar-looking frozen items (like sauces) are stored.
- Avoid food waste: Keep an inventory of what’s in your freezer to ensure you use food before it spoils. You can even use a small whiteboard to track what’s inside.
Don’t worry! You can cut off the freezer-burnt parts and reheat the rest. Freezer burn doesn’t make food unsafe, though it may affect the taste. For foods like ice cream, simply scoop out the icy portions and enjoy the rest.
Food can remain safe indefinitely in a freezer at 0°F, but for optimal quality, consume frozen food within four months. For better preservation, vacuum-sealed bags extend freshness by reducing air exposure.
- Avoid overcrowding your freezer: Leave enough space for air to circulate.
- Freeze perishables promptly: Meat, eggs, and dairy should be frozen or refrigerated within two hours.
- Monitor your freezer temperature: Ensure it’s set at 0°F (-18°C). Use a thermometer to check the temperature regularly.
Yes! Freezing food preserves nutrients just as well as fresh food, ensuring you get the same health benefits.
- In the oven: Curry Freezy trays are oven-safe (without the lid). You can place your frozen food directly in the oven, unlike glass or ceramic, which could shatter if heated from frozen.
- On the stovetop: Use medium-low heat and the “low and slow” method to prevent burning. Add water if needed, and cover the pot to help thaw and heat the food evenly.
- In the microwave: Pop out the portion you need and place it in a microwave-safe container. Curry Freezy trays allow easy portioning, so you can avoid thawing more than you need.
